Burning characteristics of ammonium nitrate propellant containing fine ammonium perchlorate – influence of porosity of ammonium perchlorate**

چکیده

Fine porous ammonium perchlorate (PAP) has small holes in its crust, and the voids particles are connected to outside. The porosity of PAP results fine bubble contamination a propellant because cannot be completely charged with binder. can improve burning rate characteristics an (AP) propellant. influence on nitrate (AN)/AP effect Fe2O3 as catalyst them were investigated this study. void fraction increased increasing mass ratio between AP all oxidizers (ξ) ranged from 1.3 % 3.2 %. AN/AP propellants. This decreasing pressure was independent ξ. However, had minimal propellants Fe2O3. increase due influenced by greatest when ξ 0.5–0.6 range.

Combustion Response of Ammonium Perchlorate

AmodiŽ ed Price–Boggs–Derr model is applied to compute the linear and nonlinear combustion response properties of monopropellant ammonium perchlorate (AP). The kinetics constants were changed to achieve good agreement with response function data as well as with steady-state data. The numerical method was Ž rst validated with the classical theory. Computations using the Levine and Culick boundar...

The Role of Boron in Thermal Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

Simultaneous thermal analysis (STA) method has been applied to study decomposition reactions of AP under a flowing nitrogen atmosphere and static air. Results obtained indicate that a phase transformation occurs prior to the decomposition reaction. Decomposition takes place exothermally in two stages, first stage of decomposition could be suppressed by the controlled heating programme. Addi...

Commercial interest in perchlorates began in the late 1890s/early 1900s in Europe and the United States as a direct result of the pioneering efforts in rockets and their propulsion systems (Mendiratta et al. 1996). The production of ammonium perchlorate, the largest component of solid rocket propellants, far outpaced that of the other perchlorates listed in Table 4-1. Their commercial manufactu...

Bis[(4-cyanobenzyl)ammonium] bis(perchlorate) monohydrate

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C(8)H(9)N(2) (+)·2ClO(4) (-)·H(2)O, consists of two (4-cyano-benz-yl)>ammonium cations, two disordered ClO(4) (-) anions and one water mol-ecule. The differences in the two cations are reflected in the N-C-C-C torsion angles [-94.7 (3) and -115.9 (3)°]. In addition, the cations show different hydrogen-bonding patterns as one N atom bonds to two O atom...
